Easter's Sequels

The sermon presents Easter as the pivotal event that begins a new narrative, unfolding in subsequent "sequels." Revelation reveals the heavenly sequel, depicting Jesus' absolute reign and the unfolding of God's plan. Acts shows the immediate earthly sequel, highlighting Jesus' ongoing work through the early church and His power to transform even the chief of sinners like Saul. The church itself is also a continuing sequel, through which Jesus' ministry extends into the world. Every believer is personally a sequel, living out the resurrection life. The final sequel is the resurrection of all believers, assuring that Jesus is in control of history and our lives.
