True faith, even as small as a mustard seed, is not for performing worldly miracles but for the miracle of forgiveness. Forgiving sin, especially deep hurt, feels impossible, yet it is the profound work of Christ's cross. The cross validates that the sin was grievous but declares it paid for, demonstrating the surpassing power of God. Jesus has commanded and authorized believers to wield this power. We forgive in His name, relying solely on the strength of His sacrifice, not our own emotional or physical strength. The Christian life is marked by continuous, uninterrupted forgiveness of sin, both received from God and offered to others, modeling our own need for the Savior's infinite pardon.
