Prepare: for God to Work

The message of Advent culminates in preparing for God to work through the scandalous and unexpected coming of Jesus Christ. Like Joseph, we are called not to be the heroes of our own stories but to be "hearers" who receive God's revealed Word with faith. Jesus is the true hero who re-dignifies humanity by living a perfect life in our place and offering a completely sufficient salvation. His name, "Immanuel," reminds us that God is with us, doing everything necessary for our redemption. Preparing for God to work means banking entirely on Jesus to fix everything, trusting His promises over our circumstances.
